Insomniac Unveils Debut Lineup For EDC Thailand 2025
Insomniac has unveiled the lineup for the debut edition of EDC Thailand.
The powerhouse promoter will collaborate with Bangkok-based partner Billions EDC to bring its flagship Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) festival to Thailand for the first time on January 17-19, 2025. Set to be held at Boat Avenue Lakefront in Phuket, the country’s largest island known for its beaches and nightlife, the event also will mark Insomniac’s first festival in Southeast Asia.
EDC Thailand’s inaugural class of acts features massive global superstars such as Skrillex, ILLENIUM, Tiësto, FISHER, Afrojack, The Chainsmokers, Alesso, Subtronics, MEDUZA, Vini Vici, SIDEPIECE, Yellow Claw, and more.
Elsewhere, bass lovers can headbang the night away with Black Tiger Sex Machine, Crankdat, ARMNHMR, and Wooli, among others, and house heads can break out their shuffle shoes for HUGEL, Ahadadream, TOKiMONSTA, and more.
Trance fans can find their groove with the likes of Giuseppe Ottaviani and Cosmic Gate, while techno lovers can get amped for sets from 999999999, Eli Brown, and Alignment. They’ll be joined by a strong contingent of local talent, as well as a special B2B from Kahani and Kunal Merchant, the co-founders of South Asian-focused label collective Indo Warehouse.
News of EDC’s Thailand debut first broke in March when Insomniac founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella accidentally leaked the company’s plans during the live lineup reveal for EDC Las Vegas 2024. The festival was officially announced in late July.
The move sees Insomniac continue to build its presence on the Asian continent. Insomniac revived EDC China following a three-year hiatus in 2023, and the festival was scheduled again in Suzhou last month but was canceled due to the impending arrival of Typhoon Bebinca. The promoter also recently hinted at the return of EDC Korea with a sign-up page on its website.
Other festivals are doing the same. Ultra Music Festival returned to Japan and debuted in Hong Kong last month and will return to Taiwan in November. In March, local news sources in Thailand reported that Tomorrowland is heading to the country in 2026. Other homegrown festivals like S2O Festival, 808 Festival, and Wonderfruit have also received acclaim.
