Decoded Magazine Celebrates Barcelona’s MOSTRA Festival 5th Anniversary

A Milestone for Independent Electronic Music

Decoded Magazine is proud to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Mostra Barcelona, a significant milestone for a festival that has consistently championed an independent, human-centric, and deeply city-rooted model. Since its inception, Mostra has carved out a unique space in the electronic music landscape, and this year, it returns with an ambitious artistic programme featuring over 35 hours of music across four days, signaling a vibrant start to the cultural season.

A New Calendar and Immersive Experience

The festivities are set to commence on March 12 with an opening day at Casa Montjuïc, a venue that serves as a bridge to the city’s most horizontal and immersive soundscapes. From March 13 to 15, the festival will transition to the Olympic Pavilion of Vall d’Hebron, which will once again serve as the heart of the Mostra community.

This year, the festival introduces several key improvements to enhance the attendee experience. Sets will now extend until 3:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and the venue will feature an expanded outdoor area. Furthermore, Mostra has shifted its dates to mid-March, moving away from the traditional Easter period to position itself as the first major festival of the year in Barcelona, bridging the gap between winter and spring.

Curating the Sounds of Tomorrow

Mostra remains steadfast in its commitment to meticulous curation and the discovery of forward-thinking artists. The lineup for this special edition is a testament to this, blending international talent with unique, exclusive live performances. Notable artists scheduled to perform include Surgeon, Angel Molina, and upsammy, among others. The full list of performers includes Absis & Estrato Aurora, Al Blayney, Aerae b2b Presha, Dania and Rupert Clervaux, Lemont, Marylou, Melina Serser, Muted, Patrick Russell, R-010, Rachael, Steve Bicknell, Substance & Vainqueur, The Transcendence Orchestra, Timnah, Toé, and XDB.

With a single-stage format designed to eliminate overlaps, the festival continues to prioritize attentive listening and genuine connection over the stress of traditional large-scale events. As an independent, non-profit project, Mostra ensures that every euro generated from ticket and bar sales is reinvested directly into the festival, maintaining its integrity and independence from external investment funds.
