Lane 8 Announces New Artist Album, Cross Pollination II
Lane 8 has officially announced his upcoming studio album, Cross Pollination II. The 14-track project is scheduled for release on June 12th through his own imprint, This Never Happened (TNH). The producer shared the news via his official social media channels, providing fans with immediate access to pre-save and pre-order options.
This new body of work serves as a spiritual successor to the original Cross Pollination album, which debuted in 2020. While the first installment featured seven tracks and acted as a creative anchor for the TNH community during a period of global uncertainty for live music, this sequel doubles the scope. The project highlights a diverse array of talent, featuring contributions from notable artists such as Rae Morris, Davey Havok, Gui Boratto, and Grigoré.
A Collaborative Evolution
Since the beginning of the year, Lane 8 has been strategically rolling out the album’s soundscape. Five tracks have already been unveiled, each having been road-tested as IDs during his live performances and seasonal mixtapes. The track ‘Disappear’, featuring sadHAPPY, marks a continuation of his successful creative partnership with Sultan + Shepard.
The collaborative spirit of the album is further evidenced by tracks like ‘Penguin Parade’, a joint effort with Robby East, who previously contributed to the Dahlia EP and the Childish remix project. Additionally, the album includes ‘Adelie’, a collaboration with Singaporean producer MYRNE, as well as ‘Tripwires’ featuring Massane and ‘World Is Mine’, which showcases the combined talents of Kasbo and BJOERN.
Celebrating a Decade of TNH
The release of Cross Pollination II arrives during a landmark year for the label. 2026 marks the ten-year anniversary of This Never Happened as both a record label and a distinct live event concept. To commemorate this milestone, Lane 8 has curated a series of anniversary shows in London and Colorado, which are set to run through mid-June, coinciding with the album’s release.
