Richie Hawtin to Headline Historic Royal Palace Show in Palermo

Following the resounding success of its debut at the ancient Doric temple of Segesta, the Aura event series is set to continue its exploration of Sicily’s most culturally significant landmarks. On June 1st, the series will host a headline performance by electronic music icon Richie Hawtin at the Palazzina Cinese in Palermo, an exquisite 18th-century royal residence originally constructed as a retreat for King Ferdinand III.

A Fusion of Heritage and Electronic Innovation

The inaugural edition of Aura successfully demonstrated that electronic music and historical heritage can coexist in a meaningful, symbiotic way. By drawing a sold-out crowd to the Parco Archeologico di Segesta, the organizers proved that the island’s ancient architecture provides a unique, atmospheric backdrop for contemporary soundscapes.

The upcoming Palermo show marks the second installment in a broader 2026 programme for Aura. By partnering closely with local authorities and site custodians, the series aims to boost regional tourism while elevating the international profile of Sicily’s most storied locations.
