Tiësto Confirms New Trance Album in the Works During EDC Las Vegas Interview
Tiësto has confirmed a new trance album is in the works. The Dutch DJ revealed the news during an interview backstage at EDC Las Vegas, framing the project as the result of a reignited connection with the sound that built his career.
“I got re-inspired by trance music,” the Dutch DJ told DJ Mag. “I wasn’t inspired for a long time, but now I’ve slowly been going through this process of bringing trance back into my sound. This is the path I’m going through — I’m not there yet, I mean I’m working on a new album and hopefully I’ll finish it soon.”
Then EDC fans got an early preview. Tiësto premiered ‘Don’t Lose Your Head’ at his circuitGROUNDS set on May 16 — a new single he described as having “very trance-y” elements. The track features vocals from Olivia Sebastianelli and is out now on streaming services.
Plus, the album news comes around six months after Tiësto first teased a possible trance return. The Dutch DJ reinstated the logo from his 1999 album ‘Live At Innercity – Amsterdam RAI’ across his online platforms and played a trance-heavy set at Dreamstate festival in California. That run continued with November’s ‘Bring Me To Life’ single, which Tiësto described as the first taste of what his 2026 album might sound like.
Then in March, Tiësto announced his first London headline show in eight years — an open-air trance event at Silverworks Island. In the interview, Tiësto also gave an insight into his pre-performance habits and shared his green room setup: a pair of CDJs and mixer, plus a small video screen streaming live footage from the stage. His most cherished EDC memory? The 2018 tribute to Avicii.
