Formed by Paul Reynolds, Scott Gray, Corbi, and Ben Santiago, the collective has spent the last ten years establishing itself as a cornerstone of the Ibiza music scene. What began as a modest gathering for friends has organically blossomed into a global powerhouse of Funk, Disco, and Soulful House, commanding stages at iconic venues worldwide.
The Power of the Off-Season
Unlike many nightlife concepts born in corporate boardrooms and parachuted onto the island for the summer, Melon Bomb was forged in the local community. The collective’s foundation was laid far away from the glitz of the high season, during a cold night in February 2015 at Pikes.
“The off-season fan base is massively important to us and has played an essential part in our success,” the group explains. “The first event we ever did at Pikes relied solely on our fellow islanders. As the season progressed, they brought their off-island friends along, helping us build a strong fan base beyond Ibiza.”
This local support created a foundation of trust. When summer tourists arrived, they were stepping into an authentic, established ecosystem. For Melon Bomb, this trust is the bedrock of their longevity. “Audiences and artists need to believe in what a brand stands for beyond any single event. That trust gives us the permission to take risks without losing our identity.”

While Melon Bomb now tours internationally, their spirit remains inextricably tied to the White Isle. The collective notes that while other major nightlife hubs like London or Manchester offer larger markets, they also bring increased competition and a different cultural dynamic.
“The culture, community, and energy that made us what we are was born in Ibiza. Ibiza is in our DNA,” they state. The island’s unique demographic—a melting pot of ages and backgrounds—has provided the perfect environment for their sound to evolve. “The crowds have an incredible appreciation for good music, and we have always strived to deliver that every time we play.”
Evolution Without Selling Out
Looking back at their ten-year trajectory, the group emphasizes that there was no single viral moment that propelled them to the top. Instead, their success is the result of steady, deliberate cultivation and a commitment to consistency.
“What’s got us to where we are now is the accumulation of many small decisions combined with constant growth,” they share. As they look toward the future, the collective remains anchored by the same ethos that brought them together in 2015. “It’s key that we adapt without losing what makes Melon Bomb ‘Melon Bomb.’ Whether our sound evolves or we work with new people, we maintain the same energy and passion to grow alongside the island.”
