Arca and Weirdcore collaborate on new film project for C2C Festival
Turin’s Club To Club Festival has unveiled a new short film that sees Arca combine with visual artist Weirdcore.
The film, which is curated by Arca and directed by Weirdcore, is the product of a four-hour live immersive music experience that took place on 15th July, in collaboration with Fundación Marcelo Burlon, a new charitable foundation founded by fashion designer Marcelo Burlon.
The film is set in Burlon’s private villa in Ibiza, which was surrounded by installations and sculptures for the 15th July event. It took place with a no-phones policy to avoid any kind of outside communication or social media engagement at the time it happened. Instead, those who attended were given a personal camera to document the full experience and live performances themselves, with their footage being put together to make up a significant portion of the short film.
The final film will be broadcast on 27th September, as part of Club To Club Festival’s ongoing digital project ‘C0C – The Festival As A Performance’, which the festival’s organisers launched at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Those who want to watch the stream on 27th September can purchase a ticket on a pay-what-you-want basis. The proceeds will be donated to Casa Marcella, a temporary shelter for trans and non-binary people who are victims of discrimination and violence.
