Awakenings is gearing up for a bold shift at Amsterdam Dance Event 2025, relocating its legendary techno showcases to a new venue—Sugarfactory. The events will unfold in Amsterdam from October 22 to 26, 2025.

Awakenings moving to Sugarfactory

Awakenings is switching things up for ADE 2025 with relocating to Sugarfactory. It is a venue that promises a more intimate and experimental vibe. If you’ve experienced Awakenings during Amsterdam Dance Event before, you probably associate it with grand, industrial spaces. In 2024, Awakenings hosted nine shows across massive venues like Gashouder and Ziggo Dome, known for their industrial scale and booming acoustics. This year’s move to Sugarfactory signals a shift toward a closer, more immersive setting. This transition reflects Awakenings’ intent to reimagine its identity at ADE—moving from scale to substance, from spectacle to experience. Fans can engage with techno in a more tactile, emotionally resonate way.

Sugarfactory, located in Amsterdam, has a rich history. Was originally built in 1963 as a beet-processing plant. It operated until 1992 before being repurposed into a raw and atmospheric event space. Today, it still showcases its industrial roots with features like exposed brickwork, towering pillars, and vintage boilers. Known for its underground energy and eclectic programming, Sugarfactory’s return as a host venue for Awakenings could offer a fresh take on techno—blending the genre’s raw power with a more personal, up-close experience.

“Is it really Awakenings at ADE without a Hard Opening?” Kick off the festivities on October 22 with the iconic Hard Opening Night. The following day, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode takes over with its signature techno power. While 2024 featured label showcases like Drumcode, EXHALE, and Spectrum, with artists such as Adam Beyer, Amelie Lens, and Joris Voorn, the 2025 lineup is still under wraps.
