Barcelona’s MOSTRA Festival Celebrates its 5th Birthday
Decoded Magazine celebrates the fifth anniversary of Mostra Barcelona, a milestone that marks a turning point for a festival that, since its inception, has championed an independent, human, and deeply city-rooted model. Five years on, they return stronger than ever with an artistic programme featuring more than 35 hours of music across four days; an edition that will open the cultural season with some of the most forward-thinking sounds of the moment.
The programme will kick off on March 12 with an opening day at Casa Montjuïc, a space that acts as a bridge to Barcelona’s most horizontal and immersive soundscapes. From the following day onwards, the festival will take over the Olympic Pavilion of Vall d’Hebron, which will once again be transformed into the heart of the Mostra community for three full days.
This year Mostra is taking a step forward: sets will run until 3:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and will also have an expanded outdoor area designed to make the experience even more comfortable and welcoming. For the first time, Mostra moves ahead in the calendar, leaving behind the traditional Easter dates and placing itself from March 12 to 15, right between winter and spring. Mostra will be Barcelona’s first festival of the year, opening the cultural season with a distinctive artistic proposal.

Mostra reaffirms its commitment to curation, the search for new languages, and the discovery of artists who define the sounds of tomorrow. In this very special edition, the festival presents a line-up that brings together international talent, unique proposals, exclusive live shows, and key figures from both the local and international scenes.

With more than 35 hours of programming and a single stage with no overlaps, Mostra continues to champion a different way of experiencing a festival: no rush, no queues, no stress, just attentive listening, discovery, and connection.
Mostra is not just any festival. It is an independent, non-profit cultural project created by a team that has been organised as a cultural association from the very beginning. We do not depend on investment funds or external interests: every euro from ticket sales or bar revenue is reinvested directly into the festival.
