DJ Bone Announces B2B Tour With Emerging Talent, Zack Fox

A New Chapter for Detroit Techno

Detroit techno pioneer DJ Bone is set to embark on a significant new collaborative venture, joining forces with DJ, multidisciplinary artist, and UWAY promoter Zack Fox. This upcoming tour represents more than just a series of back-to-back performances; it is a deliberate effort to bridge generational divides and reinforce the historical significance of Detroit as the birthplace of techno.

The tour is scheduled to commence at the ‘DJ Bone Presents: FURTHER x Homeless Homies x Paxahau’ initiative during Movement 2026 in May. Following the launch, the duo will bring their unique sound to cities including Manchester, Amsterdam, Antwerp, and Haarlem, among others.

Bridging Generations and Honoring Roots

For DJ Bone, this collaboration is rooted in a commitment to preserving the integrity of the genre. ‘This is more than just a series of back-to-back sets, it’s about creating a link between generations and, crucially, emphasising that the origins of Techno are in the Black artists of Detroit,’ Bone stated in March 2026. He noted that he has been closely following Fox’s trajectory, particularly his ability to cultivate a community-first focus while selling out venues across the United States.

Zack Fox views the partnership as a pivotal moment in his own development as an artist. ‘When it comes to DJing as an art form, Bone’s legacy is a holistic north star of inspiration for me,’ Fox remarked. ‘His technique, his ethos, his fearlessness and his determination to steward community through musical praxis. Playing alongside him isn’t just a dream collaboration; it’s school for me and our collective fans.’

Fox emphasized that the tour aims to showcase a diverse collage of Black electronic sound, drawing from influences in Chicago, Atlanta, Baltimore, the UK, and Miami, all while maintaining a heavy-handed emphasis on the foundational sounds of Detroit.

A Cultural Moment

DJ Bone’s career, spanning over three decades, has been defined by an uncompromising commitment to the underground through his platforms, SUBJECT DETROIT and FURTHER. His status as a pillar of the techno community is well-established. Conversely, Zack Fox has emerged as a powerful force since 2024, successfully connecting with younger audiences and ravers of color through his UWAY parties, which celebrate the roots of Black dance music.

Together, the pair represents a rare intergenerational dialogue—a blend of legacy and innovation, discipline and spontaneity. This project is positioned as an intentional cultural moment, designed to reconnect modern dance floors to the essential history of Detroit while simultaneously pushing the genre forward.
