FKA twigs and The Weeknd release video for new single Tears in the Club
The track was co-produced by Arca, Cirkut, and El Guincho.
FKA twigs and The Weeknd have teamed up for new song entitled Tears in the Club. The track – which was first teased by the former Crack Magazine cover star in a TikTok post, and plus several recent posts on her other social media channels – was co-produced by Arca along with Cirkut and El Guincho. The single landed late last night (16 December) alongside gripping Amber Grace Johnson-directed visual that shows both artists shedding tears in the club. Check out the video in the player above.
Following twigs’ initial teaser posts, some fans had begun to speculate on Arca’s involvement in the song. Tears in the Club appears to sample Arca’s DaWN/Phantasy. Arca and twigs have worked together previously, of course, with Arca producing on twigs’ EP2 and LP1 releases. Arca also contributed to MAGDALENE track Holy Terrain, which featured Future.
The Weeknd has previously said that he’d love to work with Arca, describing the Venezuelan artist as “great”.
Last month, twigs dropped a collaborative single entitled Measure of a Man with Central Cee, taken from the soundtrack for the upcoming Matthew Vaughn-directed film The King’s Man. The Weeknd has also been in a collaborative mood of late, releasing songs with the likes of Post Malone, Rosalía and Swedish House Mafia. A new single from The Weeknd and the late Aaliyah, entitled Poison, was released today (17 December). The song’s lifted from the late R&B star’s forthcoming posthumous album.
