‘Give It 2 U’ EP Finds The Deepshakerz in Full Control

The Deepshakerz are back on Crosstown Rebels, and this time it’s a focused, three-track pack built for maximum impact. Their new EP Give It 2 U drops May 9th and marks their second appearance on the label—following 2023’s Fire with Aaron Pfeiffer—and shows they’re still finding new ways to make tight, percussive house records that feel right at home in the Crosstown catalogue.

Over the years, the Italian duo have carved out their sound across imprints like Knee Deep In Sound, Moon Harbour, and Glasgow Underground. But Crosstown is clearly something personal for them. In their own words, it’s one of their “absolute favourite labels,” and this new release leans into the kind of textures and grooves that define the label’s catalog—melodic, tribal, functional, and always dancefloor-ready.

The title track Give It 2 U leads off with their signature bounce—dense percussion, rolling low-end, and vocal snippets that cut in with perfect timing. It sets the tone quickly and doesn’t let up. From there, The Beginning Groove takes a darker turn. The vibe stays locked, but the drums get looser, the melodic phrasing more hypnotic, giving the track enough space to evolve without breaking momentum.

Then there’s Green Light, the closer and the only collaboration on the EP. Dennis Wonder’s vocal fits right into the mix—clean but understated—letting the tight, skippy drums carry most of the energy while leaving just enough room for subtle melodic shifts to land.

It’s a smart release that doesn’t waste time on filler. Every track is playable, and the whole thing sounds like it came from producers who know exactly what works in a club and when to pull back. For Crosstown Rebels, it’s another solid addition to a catalog that keeps leaning into its own identity. For The Deepshakerz, it’s a reminder they know how to stay fresh without reinventing the wheel.
