Ibiza clubs to reopen in October
Ibiza clubs will be allowed to reopen from next weekend.
A week on from a report that suggested good news was on the way, clubs on the White Isle will officially return from 8th October
Following a ruling by the Consell de Govern Balearics today, clubs will now be able to operate at 75% capacity. However, as well as the curfew being set at 5am, masks will be mandatory and drinking on the dancefloor will be prohibited.
As part of the latest restrictions, the capacity for venues has increased from 50% to 75%, and limitations per table have been removed.
“The responsibility we have from now on has been demonstrated,” said Ocio de Ibiza’s Leisure Manager José Luis Benítez. ”We are going to ask our partners and clients for more responsibility so that they do not take any step backwards.”
Earlier this month, Ibiza lifted coronavirus restrictions on night-time events, meaning that social gatherings between 2am and 6am can currently go ahead without restriction.
The first pilot event on the White Isle took place at the Hard Rock Hotel on Friday 25th June, with 1200 of the island’s key workers invited for a session aimed at testing COVID-19 protocols within nightlife and music settings ahead of clubs being allowed to return en masse. Diario de Ibiza reported that results from the event “conclude that there was no Covid infection” among its 1,236 attendees, who were largely fully vaccinated, and wore masks throughout the event.
