Iceland Eclipse Festival Reveals Third Contact Programming
Iceland Eclipse announces its next phase of programming for 12-15 August, 2026, with festival passes and accommodations back on sale. Framed by Hellissandur’s glaciers, craters, beaches, and waterfalls, and capped at 3,333 guests, Iceland Eclipse creates an immersive, close-knit setting for discovery and connection around Iceland’s last total eclipse until 2196 – uniting music, art, science, space, and technology through a program of performances, talks, Side Quests and excursions, and interactive experiences.
Iceland Eclipse unfolds through four pillars: DANCE brings together international artists and Icelandic talent, from main stage moments to intimate firelit sets; LEARN convenes scientists, futurists, and cultural thinkers to explore frontiers spanning space, AI, consciousness, and ancestral knowledge; CONNECT, in partnership with Cosmic Pineapple, offers yoga, meditation, breathwork, mythology, ceremony, and sound healing; and EXPLORE, co-created with ReWilding Iceland, immerses guests in the landscapes of Snæfellsnes through expeditions, sauna rituals, cold plunges, and nature-based practices.
In response to a wealth of submissions and direct outreach from artists, speakers, and creators eager to participate in the full Iceland Eclipse experience, the festival reveals a new set of notable additions shaped directly by its community of seekers, reflecting the growing desire among participants to contribute to the program in a more meaningful way, beyond merely attending the gig or performance itself. DANCE program additions include Captain Hook, CloZee, Ida Engberg, Kenny Dope, Nick Warren, joining the previously announced likes of Imogen Heap, Reggie Watts, Booka Shade (Live), Arc De Soleil, Ash Lauryn, Ryan Crosson, Daði Freyr, Emiliana Torrini, MEDUZA³, Nightmares on Wax, and more. New LEARN additions include Ben Nowack, Gunnar Ólafsson, Emily Bilbao, Jason Achilles Mezilis, Mörður Moli Gunnarsson Ottesen, Ruth Daniel, Samantha Tauber, Steven Blumenfeld (Burning Man), and Tony Cho. Third contact CONNECT participants include Android Jones, Ayla Schafer, Chris Dyer, Curawaka, Leanne Falco, María Valdivia, Scarlett de la Torre, Red Owl Medicine Woman, Tinna María Verret, and Zoey Wind.
The festival continues to amplify voices from Iceland’s creative ecosystem with new additions across music, art, and culture, including Samwise, Carla Rose, Bensol, Agzilla, Cell7, Orang Volante, and Gunnar Ólafsson. These names deepen Iceland Eclipse’s commitment to collaboration with local talent and cultural leaders from the Snæfellsnes region and beyond.
The Portal at Iceland Eclipse: Innovation Residency & Immersive Retreat
Running from 19 July – 15 August 2026, The Portal at Iceland Eclipse is a month-long co-creation container and intentional community pop-up village hosted on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. This innovation residency and immersive retreat gathers artists, technologists, astronauts, local cultural stewards, and innovators to explore new approaches to living, creating, and collaborating. Participants engage in hands-on workshops, daily wellness practices, collaborative studios, and excursions into Iceland’s dramatic landscapes. As the total solar eclipse passes overhead on 12 August 2026, the ideas and projects born within The Portal at Iceland Eclipse will come to life during Iceland Eclipse, where art, music, technology, and discovery converge.
Learning Opportunities and Social Impact Partners
Within the LEARN and Social Impact streams, Third Contact introduces a tightly curated wave of speakers and partner organizations who turn bold ideas into real world experiments. Ben Nowack and Emily Bilbao of Reflect Orbital will share a special first insight into the future of space-based illumination. Also engage with Blue economy entrepreneur Gunnar Ólafsson, Mars microphone engineer and musician Jason Achilles Mezilis, regenerative living advocate Mörður “Moli” Gunnarsson Ottesen, creative activism leader Ruth Daniel of In Place of War, metaverse futurist and performance artist Samantha Tauber as VNCCII, Burning Man Project Chief Technology Officer Steven Blumenfeld, and regenerative city builder Tony Cho of Future of Cities and ChoZen for intimate sessions on climate solutions, creative technology, psychedelics, and inclusive space futures.

They are joined by Social Impact Partners EarthPercent, Eden Foundation, Playing For Change, SciArt Exchange, Space For Humanity, the Iceland Space Agency, and the University of Hawaiʻi Institute for Astronomy Solar Wind Sherpas who will help transform Snæfellsnes into a living classroom through eclipse expeditions, music powered philanthropy, citizen science, and community projects that leave a positive legacy long after the Moon’s shadow passes.
Cosmic Connection: A Space for Wellness, Wisdom, Movement & Magic
At the outer edge of the Iceland Eclipse gathering will be Cosmic Connection. A dedicated space curated with Cosmic Pineapple founder Kim Booth, the area will bring together practitioners from Iceland and around the world to offer breathwork, movement, and elemental teachings focused on wellbeing and connection – all with a subtle thread of psychological exploration running throughout. Within the Cosmic Activation Dome, participants will be invited into conscious and esoteric self-exploration: breathwork, meditation, yoga, mantra, ecstatic dance, cacao ceremonies, womb healing, sound healing, and psychological journeys including inner child work and family constellations.
Each night, the Sacred Fire will host storytelling and shared reflections with Icelandic elders and guests from global cultural traditions, alongside intimate performances from Ayla Schafer and Curawaka. A dedicated Healing Area will offer private sessions of massage, energy work, psychic readings, and more. A Cacao Elixir Bar, a Tea Lounge, and additional restorative offerings round out the experience – creating a calm, purposeful space within the wider Iceland Eclipse journey.
Bridging worlds and traditions, space holders such as Heimir Logi, Dr Haruldur Erlendsson, Heiðrún Magdalena, Julia’s Alchemy, Luana Schwengber, Sara María Forynja (Eden Foundation), Óli Bjorn, ATMA, Nicolai Englebrecht, Tree Carr, Semra Haksever (Mama Moon), Giose Milli, Kim Booth, Sofia Thom (Temple Body Arts), Patrick Kronfli (Unify), Sacred Explorer, Maria Valdivia, Tao Txana, The Blue Lions, Red Owl Medicine Woman and sharers from the Huni Kuin Family and Wixarika tribe and more, will share their magic and wisdom in this space.
Building Toward Totality
As the festival approaches, Iceland Eclipse will continue to expand its interdisciplinary program across music, learning, wellness, and exploration – crafting a once-in-a-century experience where creativity and community meet against one of Earth’s most extraordinary natural backdrops.
Final program additions will arrive at Fourth Contact, estimated February 2026.
