Jamz Supernova launches new podcast, DIY Handbook
Jamz Supernova is launching a new podcast, DIY Handbook, kicking off on 24th May.
A first for the BBC 6 Music and 1Xtra regular, and former BBC Radio 1 host, confirmed guests include producer Toddla T, entrepreneur Ciara Madden, broadcaster June Sarpong, and Zubin Irani, manager of acclaimed singer-songwriter, Jorja Smith.
A range of topics will be covered in eight weekly episodes, ranging from diversity and trauma to successful team relationships. The first instalment focuses on ‘The Art of Persistence’, featuring British Olympic gold medallist Katarina Johnson-Thompson.
“Through a collection of conversations and real-life anecdotes with a range of brilliant business and creative minds, I take the lessons I’ve learned and dissect that experience with people I admire. In a world that praises perfection and overnight success, we’ll aim to be painfully honest, personal and practical! Welcome to my DIY Handbook,” Jamz Supernova said of the idea behind the podcast.
DJ Mag’s March cover star, 2021 also marks Jamz Supernova’s tenth year on UK radio, and the first vinyl release on her Future Bounce imprint — ‘Future Bounce Club Series Vol 1’ is currently on preorder and lands to buy 31st May. Cuts from Bamz, KG & Uniqu3 and Rose Bonica all feature, alongside a track from Sam Interface, who dropped his ‘Going In/Shadows’ two-tracker for the label last month. A London event is planned to celebrate all this in the form of a day and night party at Night Tales in Hackney, London, on 17th July.
