Kyle Chase, Liverpool Nightclub Owner, Jailed for 12 Years
Kyle Chase, the 39-year-old owner of the Liverpool nightclub Spray Shop, has been sentenced to 12 years and eight months in prison for his involvement in drug trafficking. Known in the DJ community as Kyle Muldoon, Kyle Chase was convicted at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday, July 25, 2024, after pleading guilty to conspiring to supply significant quantities of Class A and B drugs.
Authorities revealed that Kyle Chase, under aliases such as “threefatladies” and “fourfatladies“, used the encrypted messaging service Encrochat to coordinate the distribution of 12 kg (26.4 pounds) of cocaine, 3 kg (6.6 pounds) of heroin, 10 kg (22 pounds) of ketamine, and 15 kg (33 pounds) of cannabis across the UK between March and June 2020. His actions during this period, when many were confined to their homes due to the pandemic, have been condemned by law enforcement.
Detective Inspector Laura Parr commented on the case, stating;
“Kyle Chase believed he could evade justice by using encrypted devices, but his actions have led to a significant prison sentence.“
As part of the investigation, Merseyside Police found evidence linking Kyle Chase to his music studio in Liverpool, which he also used as part of his criminal enterprise. Despite his success in the music industry, Judge Gary Woodhall emphasized the gravity of his crimes during sentencing, remarking on how Kyle Chase‘s career and aspirations have been irrevocably altered by his illegal activities.
Kyle Chase‘s nightclub, Spray Shop, a 350-capacity venue located in Liverpool‘s north docklands, opened in February 2023. At its launch, Kyle Chase had spoken of his desire to “create a cultural legacy” for the city — a vision now overshadowed by his criminal convictions.
