Le Hutin Delivers His Boldest Statement Yet With “Love Is The Answer”
Last Thursday, June 12th, Le Hutin returned with “Love Is The Answer“, a 26-track odyssey that might just be his most personal and far-reaching work to date. Following up a trilogy of LPs (“The Sexophonist” in 2021, “DIVE” in 2022, and “Expectation?!” in 2023), this new record sees the multi-talented artist embark on a bold new journey, re-inventing himself in the process.
After stepping away from De La Groove – the label and collective he founded and led since 2016 – Le Hutin found himself at a crossroads. “Love Is The Answer” is both a restart and a manifesto, proof that freedom, honesty, and technicality can converge in dance music. “It takes time to build a full record that you feel can look and sound as you are, free of compromises,” he says.
At the heart of the album is house (his first love) but Le Hutin refuses to stay in one lane. As the project unfolds, listeners will find the classic elements and pulse of UK garage, the tenderness of soul, the chaos of punk, and even the color of Moroccan and Latin textures. It’s a record shaped as much by St Germain, Fatboy Slim, and Junior Jack as it is by Mac Miller, Linkin Park, Nils Frahm, and Vulfpeck. With such a fascinating and varied group of inspirations, it’s incredible how Le Hutin is able to ground all of them and create a new sound that is entirely his own.
“I only hope you spend some good time listening, and that I will spark some emotions in you, ’cause that’s what music is all about,” he says. We can attest to the “sparking emotions” part.
Recorded, post-produced, and sung almost entirely by Le Hutin himself, “Love Is The Answer” is a self-made epic, and an unfiltered transmission from the heart of an artist who’s more fearless, and more free, than ever before. This is a must-listen.
