Liverpool’s Blackstone Street Warehouse under investigation over unauthorised road closures
Liverpool’s Blackstone Street warehouse is reportedly under investigation by local officials over claims it has closed down roads around the venue without permission.
According to a report from The Echo, the 10,000-capacity venue – which is situated near Bramley-Moore Dock, metres away from the newly-constructed Everton Stadium – was found to have placed “road ahead closed” signs outside during its events, despite not having submitted an application to councillors to cordon off nearby roads.
The report references images taken on two occasions during events held at the venue in January 2025, including one where a Merseyside Police van was visible – despite the police force claiming that officers were not present at the site on those occasions.

In a statement to Mixmag, a representative for Blackstone Street Warehouse said: “The third party company that organises the road closures and traffic management for Blackstone Street are in meaningful dialogue with the traffic police, and Liverpool City Council representatives and they believe they have adequate support in place should road closures be needed in the future.”
Blackstone Street Warehouse is currently subject to a planning investigation by Liverpool City Council after allegedly being found to have operated without correct planning permission.

However, council officials have deemed the venue as operational, telling The Echo that Blackstone Street Warehouse is an “occasional type venue, the event management team are robust, and licensing have never had any issues with compliance.”
Bramley-Moore Dock is one of Liverpool’s biggest multi-use venues, with a number of large-scale parties scheduled for 2025 – including a Glitterbox event in March and a Teletech party headlined by Alex Farrell in October.
