London’s Fabric Set to Upgrade Room 1 Sound System After 25 Years

London’s iconic fabric club is set to enhance its legendary Room 1 sound system for the first time since its opening. After 25 years of delivering high-quality sound to the club’s loyal patrons, the team has announced a significant upgrade, focusing on preserving its signature sound while boosting performance.

The overhaul will see the fabric‘s current Martin Audio W8C system upgraded, alongside the installation of additional subwoofers. Matt Smith, the club’s tech manager, explained the decision:

We were unanimous in the need to renovate the system to maintain our distinctive Martin Audio sound, which has become a hallmark of the club. This installation holds a lot of history for us.

Matt Smith emphasized that the new system, while more powerful, is not just about increasing volume.

It’s about delivering a crisp, tight sound that remains punchy without being overwhelming. With the new amps, we’re far from reaching peak power, ensuring a balanced experience for everyone.

This upgrade comes just in time for fabric’s 25th-anniversary celebrations, scheduled from October 11th to 13th, 2024. The weekend will feature a marathon lineup of top DJs, including Ricardo Villalobos, Sedef Adasï, FJAAK, and many more, offering fans the perfect opportunity to experience the revamped sound system firsthand.
