N-Trance return with first original single in 22 years

N-Trance have returned with ‘Higher’, their first original single in 22 years, marking a new chapter for the legendary UK dance act. Alongside the release, the group unveiled an official music video, reintroducing the unmistakable energy that defined their crossover dominance in the 1990s. Consequently, the comeback reconnects longtime fans with a sound rooted in classic club culture.

Produced by founding member Kevin O’Toole, ‘Higher’ carries authentic sonic DNA. O’Toole recorded the track using the same mixing desk, monitors, and microphone that shaped the group’s original chart hits, including the era-defining ‘Set You Free’. Moreover, the release marks N-Trance’s first independent outing, following earlier years with Pete Waterman’s PWL Manchester imprint 380 Records and All Around The World.

“I’ve always wanted my own record label and the freedom that comes with that,” said Kevin O’Toole. “The overwhelming response to the new song has been emotional and I’ve missed the adrenaline of releasing new music.”

Meanwhile, the video for ‘Higher’ embraces nostalgia with a DeLorean time machine racing down a runway, nodding directly to the 90s era that shaped the group’s identity. Formed in 1990 by O’Toole and Dale Longworth, N-Trance achieved mainstream breakthrough in 1995 when ‘Set You Free’ reached No. 2 on the UK Official Charts and remained in the Top 40 for five months. Ultimately, with a packed 2026 touring schedule and renewed momentum, N-Trance signal that their story continues well beyond their 90s legacy.
