Pasquale Rotella Responds After Certain EDC Vegas Layaway Tickets Get Cancelled
Some EDC Las Vegas 2026 attendees started the new year in full panic mode. Over the past 48 hours, social media platforms including Reddit, TikTok, and Radiate have been flooded with reports from Headliners claiming their payment plan tickets were suddenly canceled without warning or explanation.

With EDC Las Vegas already sold out and 2026 marking the festival’s 30th anniversary, the timing of the cancellations only intensified concerns. Many fans fear they will miss their chance to attend one of the most anticipated festival editions yet.
Layaway Ticket Holders Hit the Hardest
Most reported issues tie back to layaway payment plans. Many fans said they were current on payments when Insomniac revoked their tickets. Several also reported receiving partial refunds that included a missing $150 cancellation fee—leaving them both ticketless and out hundreds of dollars.
“I never missed a payment,” one Reddit user wrote. “My account was fine, then half my money disappeared.”
Adding to the confusion, many affected fans reported that their Camp EDC reservations and shuttle passes remained active, suggesting the issue affected only festival tickets, not entire orders. This led to the assumption of a system error rather than widespread payment delinquency.
EDMTunes Reaches Out: Insomniac Responds
As EDMTunes contacted Insomniac to seek clarity on the situation, Insomniac CEO, Pasquale Rotella took to Instagram to answer the questions directly in the form of a comment response. Insomniac has stated that his response below contains the company’s position on the situation.

According to the statement, the ticketing team’s internal review found that all recent ticket cancellations came from accounts that defaulted or missed scheduled payments. However, Rotella acknowledged that the timing of the cancellations coincided with a particularly hectic period for many fans. He noted that the holiday season—including Christmas, New Year, and the associated travel and time off—can disrupt schedules and payment reminders, which may have contributed to the situation for some Headliners. While maintaining that the cancellations followed existing policy, Rotella expressed understanding for fans affected during that window.
In light of the feedback received, he instructed its ticketing team to reinstate all tickets canceled during this period. He also confirmed a policy adjustment moving forward, explaining that Insomniac will no longer cancel layaway plans during the holiday break or immediately afterward.
What To Do If Your Ticket Was Canceled
For Headliners who believe their ticket was canceled in error, Insomniac recommends taking immediate action. Insomniac has replied to several fans in the comments, encouraging them to DM them with their order number and submit a request through the Insomniac contact page. Insomniachas confirmed that cases are still actively being reviewed.
The incident raised concerns about automated layaway systems, especially for high-demand festivals. For longtime fans, EDC’s 30th-anniversary scare was a reminder to monitor payments and account alerts. For now, patience sticks around as Insomniac works through reinstatements. The shared goal seems to be one; to get Headliners safely back Under the Electric Sky.
