Shlomo & Junkie Kid Drop Hard-Hitting ‘Not The Same’
French hard techno heavyweight Shlomo has unveiled his latest weapon ahead of his highly anticipated HEARTCORE album. Teaming up with Mexican hardstyle sensation Junkie Kid, the pair deliver “Not The Same” – a peak-time destroyer that showcases both artists’ ability to blur genre boundaries while maintaining maximum dancefloor impact.
Released February 13th via Shlomo’s own Taapion Records, “Not The Same” marks the third preview of the HEARTCORE LP. The collaboration sees these two powerhouse producers building on their previous studio chemistry, crafting a track that seamlessly weaves hard techno ferocity with hardstyle’s signature punch.
Cross-Continental Studio Sessions
The production process for “Not The Same” was as intense as the final result. With Shlomo based in Paris and Junkie Kid in Mexico, the duo often found themselves working during late-night hours due to the time difference.
“Working again with Junkie Kid felt natural for me,” Shlomo explains. “He’s a true hardstyle prodigy, with a sharp and uncompromising sound. This track was built between Paris and Mexico, often late at night because of the time difference — that nocturnal tension really shaped the energy of the record.”
Melodic Breaks Meet Hard Drops
For Junkie Kid, the collaboration represents a perfect fusion of their shared musical vision. “This second collaboration between Shlomo and I, it’s just the result of the love we both have for ‘melodic breaks’ and ‘hard drops’,” he notes. “We decided to join forces again to bring something fresh to our fans.”
The track delivers on that promise with relentless percussion, compressed synth pressure, and a soaring vocal line that cuts through the industrial mayhem. It’s a brutal yet vulnerable cut that captures the emotional depth Shlomo has become known for while maintaining the dancefloor devastation both artists excel at.
Building Toward HEARTCORE
As the third single from the forthcoming HEARTCORE album, “Not The Same” continues to showcase Shlomo’s evolution as both a producer and label owner. Taapion Records has become a crucial platform for boundary-pushing electronic music, with Shlomo using it to explore the intersection of techno, hardstyle, and industrial sounds.
The single arrives in both Extended Mix and Radio Edit formats, ensuring it’s ready for both underground warehouse raves and festival main stages. For fans of either artist, “Not The Same” serves as a perfect entry point into their collaborative world – one where genre lines blur and the only constant is unrelenting energy.
“Not The Same” is available now on all major streaming platforms via Taapion Records, with the full HEARTCORE album expected later this year.
