Snoop Dogg releases new album, 'The Algorithm': Listen

Snoop Dogg has released his new album, ‘The Algorithm’.

Out today (19th November), Snoop’s 19th studio album sees him working alongside a wide group of collaborators that includes Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Mary J Blige, Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, Usher, Jadakiss and more.

As well as leading various tracks himself, Snoop also gives space to a number of other artists from across Def Jam’s roster on the album. It’s his first album for the label since taking on the role of executive creative consultant there.

‘The Algorithm’, which takes in 25 tracks in all, was first teased on 20th October, Snoop’s 50th birthday, with the release of lead track ‘Big Subwoofer’, which was credited to the supergroup Mount Westmore, comprised of Snoop, Ice Cube, Too $hort and E-40. 

Speaking about the album in a statement, Snoop said: “There’s so much talent on this record, so many styles of music, it breaks the algorithm. Right now, the algorithm is telling us you have to rap this way, you have to sound this way, but they’re not telling you how it’s supposed to feel. My algorithm is going to give you a feeling, not a sound.”

In October, it was confirmed that Snoop — who also stars in the new animated movie ‘Addams Family 2‘ —  will join Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Eminem and Mary J Blige to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show.
