Swedish House Mafia Drops New ID and NYC Show
On Wednesday, June 18th, Swedish House Mafia (SHM) held their surprise show in Stockholm, where they first played their newest track, Wait So Long. To make things more special for this launch party, it was a three-hour set in their home city. This was all announced immediately after their social media was wiped clean and with less than a week’s notice. As of today, you can listen to the song, Wait So Long, now on music streaming platforms.
During this show, SHM set up a direct live stream. Not a live stream on Instagram or YouTube, as you might think. No, this live stream transmitted part of the show to a billboard in New York City. It was a very well thought-out, meticulous idea was many believed they were trying to tease a potential show in NYC.
And that’s precisely what they were doing. Along with the live stream was a message on the billboard that read, “New York See You Soon“. On the SHM’s Instagram story, they post a screenshot of a Google Maps coordinate with the location of the billboard on 50th and Broadway in New York. Now we wait for details to be revealed to catch these Swedes on their next stop in New York City.
