The 15 Best Techno Tracks of May 2025
The techno chart for this past month is nearly chopped into two pieces. One being many pieces from the Klubnacht compilation and the other is Adam Beyer’s upcoming long-player which we have represented by four of the tunes from that very album. Including, his epic collaboration with Layton Giordani that sits at the top of the chart. It’s called, “Alto” and it features a timeless sample of The Orb’s “Little Fluffy Clouds.” A downtempo classic from all the way back in 1990.
Stream all of the tracks to hit the techno chart so far this year:
1. “ALTO” – ADAM BEYER & LAYTON GIORDANI [DRUMCODE]
“I sent Layton a lot of my sketches while on tour, and this one caught his attention. I laid down the melodies and core structure, then he brought Alto to life with his signature drums and finishing touches. We sampled an iconic vocal from the same source as The Orb’s Little Fluffy Clouds. It’s euphoric, emotional and written in a major key which is rare for me, and has become a set closer, especially in Ibiza. Always goes off.” – Adam Beyer
2. “NO DIVISION” – CHARLOTTE DE WITTE FEAT. XSALT [KNTXT]
“This track reflects a part of who I am. It’s both a call and a celebration. It’s a reminder of what’s possible when we lose ourselves in the music and come together on the same frequency. It reminds us that we are one.” – Charlotte de Witte
3. “HYPNOTIC” – ADAM BEYER X HNTR X FEAT. KYOZO [DRUMCODE]
Adam Beyer’s “Hypnotic” was recently showcased on his dynamic, wide-ranging Essential Mix. It’s a blazing collaboration with HNTR and Kyoto. A massive one with crunchy percussion and seductive vocal lines that blurs genre lines. Turn it up.
4. “THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US” – ADAM BEYER [DRUMCODE]
“It’s my take on indie-electronic. Arpeggiators, synths, 80s melodies, big hooks. A standout for sure. I’ve closed huge sets like Ultra and Drumsheds with it. Still not sure where it came from creatively, but I love it.” – Adam Beyer
5. “TAKING BACK CONTROL” – ADAM BEYER [DRUMCODE]
Soaking up inspirations from three decades producing music, “Taking Back Control” is a driving production that takes influence from genres all across the board including trance, rap, and techno.
6. “EVANESZENZ” – JAKOJAKO [OSTGUT TON]
JakoJako’s “Evanszenz” Klubnacht 01 is a jaw-dropping highlight that’ll stop you in your tracks.
7. “SOUL SLAPPER” – STEFFI [OSTGUT TON]
Long-time, Panorama Bar resident, Steffi makes her contribution to the first edition of Klubnacht count. It’s called, “Soul Slapper” and contrary to that title, it’s more of groover if you ask me.
8. “SEELE” – ALTINBAS [OSTGUT TON]
“Seele” is a deep and delicate contribution that embraces melody more than most of its counterparts.
9. “IT DOESN’T MEAN I’M WRONG” – GENTIAN [CRISIS OF MAN]
Alex Hoffman is back on CRISIS OF MAN with his Gentian alias and a six-track collection that offers an introspective angle to techno that most are not accustomed to.
10. “CONTROL” – CHARLES D [DRUMCODE]
“I’m really inspired by a lot of the new music out there, and wanted to make something that felt peak time, but had some melodic techno and tech house flavor to it. I made several versions of it, but the very first version was the one that made the cut. When I heard Adam play it at Drumsheds and Resistance in Miami and saw the crowd’s reaction, I knew not to mess with it too much.” – Charles D
11. “AFTERNOON CALCIUM” – QUELZA [OSTGUT TON]
“Afternoon Calcium” is a deep and sleazy affair that should appeal to those of us that prefer our techno just after sunrise.
12. “SUBMERGE” – FADI MOHEM [OSTGUT TON]
“Submerge” goes deeper than you think.
13. “CHROME FEVER” – AZU TIWALINE & CINNA PEYGHAMY [OSTGUT TON]
“Chrome Fever” is a slow-burning ride that’ll take you somewhere new and unknown.
14. “OVERSEAS” – GIGI FM [OSTGUT TON]
In a crowded field of minimalism, GiGi FM contributes this weapon that twists and bends while packing a generous amount of punch.
15. “TIVOLI (KREAM EXTENDED REMIX)” – STEVE ANGELLO [SIZE RECORDS]
Sixteen years after Steve Angello dropped “Tivoli”, KREAM brings it back with a melodic techno update that should fit will any of today’s large scale sets.
