The Voiceover Gallery Future-Proofs Studio with Audient’s Immersive Solution

The Voiceover Gallery, one of the UK’s leading voiceover and dialogue recording studios, has installed the Audient ORIA with the optional Dante card in its main mix room at the company’s Soho, London complex. The new setup marks a step forward in the studio’s move toward immersive and surround mixing.

“We’ve been pushing toward immersive and surround mixing,” said Max Russell, Lead Audio Engineer at The Voiceover Gallery. “Our main mix room in London currently has a nearfield 5.1 setup, but we’re about to turn it into a 7.1.4 immersive room, using the ORIA as a standalone audio interface and monitor controller.”

With four studios in London and two more in Manchester’s Castlefield area, The Voiceover Gallery covers a broad range of production workflows with a focus on voiceover and dialogue recording. The addition of ORIA is part of an ongoing effort to future-proof the studio’s facilities and improve efficiency across projects.

Streamlined Workflow and Dante Integration

Max first discovered ORIA while searching for an interface with Dante connectivity. The ORIA’s optional Dante card offers up to 16 input channels over AoIP, simplifying integration and expanding I/O flexibility. “With the ease of access to immersive monitoring as well as the Dante capabilities, it was a no-brainer. It could fill all our requirements now and for the future,” he explained.

Since the installation, the team has noticed major workflow improvements. Setup was immediate — “out of the box and straight into our rack with no extra steps needed” — and the day-to-day use has become much faster. “As we do a lot of surround recording and mixing, ORIA has helped massively. We no longer need to switch any cabling between sessions. We can press one button and return to stereo for recording.”

According to Max, the upgrade has transformed their monitoring accuracy. “The difference between our old interface and the speaker-calibrated setup we have now is incredible. We can’t wait to complete our full 7.1.4 system with ORIA.”

He also highlighted ORIA’s detailed feature set: “The mic pres are clean and transparent, perfect for voiceover and dialogue work. The ability to mute inputs directly from the hardware helps when playing back takes without any spill. The reference level function is also a great addition for quickly getting to a consistent volume.”

A Modern Studio Built for Global Collaboration

The Voiceover Gallery continues to operate at the forefront of audio production technology. Both the London and Manchester studios run Pro Tools and are Source-Connect certified, allowing seamless collaboration with studios and voice artists around the world.

Recent projects and updates from The Voiceover Gallery can be found on their website and LinkedIn, where the team also highlights the work of their new children’s voiceover division, TVG Kids.

The Audient ORIA unit was supplied by London-based pro audio specialist KMR.
