2 Bad Mice announce new iteration of legendary Moving Shadow label, Over/Shadow
Legendary UK label Moving Shadow is set to be reborn under a new collective banner, Over/Shadow, spearheaded by 2 Bad Mice.
Over/Shadow is the brain child of 2 Bad Mice, AKA Sean O’Keeffe and Si Colebrooke, who were were closely linked to Moving Shadow in its early years, and helped co-run the label alongside its founder Rob Playford, who was also an original member of the group. Moving Shadow was responsible for some of the most seminal UK rave music of the ’90s.
The news of the new project was shared on Instagram via the crew’s official page, promising to reunite the family of hardcore breakbeat, drum & bass and jungle artists that called the label home, including Omni Trio, Dom & Roland, Aquasky, Calyx, Flytronix and more. The label also promises to introduce some “new friends” into the fold.
2BadMice had toyed with the idea of continuing Moving Shadow’s legacy for a few years, gradually bringing members of the label’s original community together under the new banner. Over/Shadow’s debut release will come from Blame, who released one of Moving Shadow’s legendary tracks ‘Music Takes You’ in 1991. More info will be available soon, but in the meantime you can follow Over/Shadow on Bandcamp.
