Roland announces two new hardware drum machines including a 606 clone
Roland has announced three new drum machines, two hardware and one software. The TR-6S is a small-format six-track sequencer that features sounds from the 808, 909, 707, 606 and more as well as FM synth tones. It features six faders and Roland’s famous TR-REC sequencer, with 16 steps and pads. It also houses FX, filters and LFOs.
It costs $399. The TR-06Drumatrix is a hardware clone of the famous TR-606 drum machine. It retains the same form factor, with control for tuning, decay and pan for each instrument, with a new overdrive and compressor built in. The TR-06 features five trigger outs and one input, plus USB for it to act as an interface, built-in speakers and battery operation. It also costs $399.
Finally, the TR-606 plugin has also been added to Roland’s Cloud subscription service, which can be trialled here.
