‘90s UK rave MC Magika shares history of the scene in new book, Make Some Noize

Crowdfunding is under way for a new book which will look back at the history of the ’90s UK rave scene through the lens of one of its key MCs, Magika.

‘Make Some Noize’ features contributions from Carl Cox, with whom Magika performed in the ’90s. “Magika could move the crowd like no other MC,” Cox says of him. He also acted as hypeman on sets by the likes of Grooverider, Andy C, DJ SS and Slipmatt. 

Offering an insight into the book, the MC says: “My name is Magika. I’ve spent three decades working in the live music industry – from house to hardcore via techno, jungle and drum & bass – it’s been a journey with its highs and lows working with some of the biggest names in dance music. It’s a journey I made with thousands of party goers like you up and down the country and across the world. I want to tell my story. It’s your story. It’s our story. It’s the story of the UK rave scene from a new perspective. Together, let’s… MAKE SOME NOIZE!”
