BOTCASH Shares Full Debut EDC Thailand Set On YouTube
BOTCASH, one of Thailand’s top EDM talents, has shared the full recording of his EDC debut.
The veteran DJ and producer—real name Sanhapas Bunnag—helped welcome Insomniac’s famous Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) to his home country for the first time with an opening day performance at EDC Thailand, which debuted at the Boat Avenue Lakefront in Phuket from January 17-19.
Known in North America for his melodic productions and remixes on labels like Monstercat and Hidden Horizon, BOTCASH brought his unique fusion of electronic beats and traditional Thai music to Kinetic Field, sharing the festival’s main stage with huge names like Nicky Romero, Afrojack, FISHER and Tiësto, and captivating the crowd with his masterful playing of the phin, a guitar-like instrument from the Thai music tradition.
Recorded on January 17 and now available to watch in full on BOTCASH’s YouTube channel, the hour-long set rolls through a variety of electronic styles, from big room and speed house to euphoric melodic bass, and is peppered with the artist’s remixes of festival classics like ILLENIUM’s “Good Things Fall Apart” and Porter Robinson’s “Shelter.”
“EDC Thailand was pure magic,” BOTCASH wrote on Instagram last week. “60 minutes felt like 60 seconds on that stage. For the first time, I saw someone cry during my set—a moment I’d only heard my DJ friends describe as the best feeling. Now I truly understand, and I’m so grateful for it.”
The performance also featured a special rendition of BOTCASH’s latest single, “Never Fall.” Released in November, the collaboration with melodic bass producer SABAI followed BOTCASH’s recent remixes for Elephante and SABAI’s ‘Say It Like You Mean It” and SABAI and RUNN’s “Landslide.”
Last fall, BOTCASH performed on U.S. shores for the first time, supporting SABAI on the latter’s North American headline run and partnering with the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C., for a special Thai National Day celebration performance.
