Michael Bibi returns with “miracle” new release ‘Sungazing’

Michael Bibi has put out his first release in two years, ‘Sungazing (Electronic Mix)’, calling it a “miracle” in an emotional social media post.

The DJ and producer was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, CNS lymphoma, in 2023, and was forced to take a step away from the music world while undergoing treatment.

He returned to the decks later that year after completing his main treatment, and then in December confirmed the good news that he was in remission, before returning to the DJ circuit in earnest in 2024.

This included the huge ‘One Life’ show in London’s Finsbury Park in July, 2024, which raised more than £124,000 for cancer research and hosted the stem cell transplant charity, The Anthony Nolan, on-site to help recruit attendees to sign up to the stem cell register.

Now his first new release since his diagnosis has landed, a collaboration with Alexa Sunshine Rose.

On Instagram he wrote: “A song I started before being diagnosed with a brain tumour, eventually gave me the strength to carry on fighting with the vision of surviving, in order to be able to see it be released one day, has now become a reality. It’s a miracle, [thank you] everyone that supported me … this is closing a chapter of my life. I hope the song may help others now in the way it helped me making it.”

It features the lyrics: “In the centre of my soul I know that I am free / God has a plan for me / I’ve been to the deepest darkest depths of despair / and returned a stronger man.”
