Gorillaz celebrate 25th anniversary with new London exhibition, House of Kong
Gorillaz are celebrating 25 years since their formation with a new exhibition, House of Kong, set to land in London this summer.
The exhibition will take place at the Copper Box, a venue located in London’s Olympic Park, and is set to run from August 8 to September 3, open daily from 10:30AM – 10PM.
House of Kong promises a look behind the curtain of Gorillaz’ artistry over the years, a journey through “the band’s life of misadventures, musical innovation and groundbreaking virtual ways”.

The name takes from their fabled home, Kong, and looks at all four virtual characters who front the band: bassist Murdoc Niccals, singer 2D, drummer Russel Hobbs and guitarist Noodle.
Said to be an “exhibition like no other”, House of Kong journeys back to the band’s beginning with the release of their hit track ‘Tomorrow Comes Today’ in 2000, which launched their virtual world.
“This summer, the gates of Kong will swing open for the very first time,” Gorillaz announced on Instagram yesterday (May 21). “Only open for a limited time. Don’t miss out, get your tickets now.”

Alongside the announcement, Gorillaz also revealed that they will perform four “celebratory one-off live shows” at the Copper Box Arena while the exhibition is ongoing.
Live performances will take place on August 29, August 30, September 2, and September 3. More details around the “limited capacity” events will be revealed soon.
