Tomorrowland Thailand Receives Government Approval In 5-Year Deal
Plans for Tomorrowland Thailand have been formally approved by Thailand’s government, according to local news sources.
Following discussions held between the Belgian festival giant and the Thai government in March, Thai news outlet Nation Thailand reports that the agreement now officially grants Tomorrowland permission to bring a flagship event to the country for the next five years, from 2026 to 2030. The historic agreement will make Thailand the first Southeast Asian nation to host a full-scale Tomorrowland festival.
The agreement was reportedly signed as part of the Thai Cabinet’s goal to improve tourism in the country, with Tomorrowland’s Asian debut expected to attract more than one million attendees from around the world across five editions, and inject over 12 billion baht (about nearly $650 million USD) into Thailand’s economy, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
The TAT has been named as the “lead agency” responsible for managing and coordinating with Tomorrowland and other “relevant parties” to organize the festival, per Nation Thailand. They’ll officially partner with either Tomorrowland International (TLI) or the Belgian company’s local joint venture, We Are One.World (Thailand) Company Limited.
“The event is not just about hosting a concert; it will also generate job opportunities and valuable knowledge transfer, as the event organizers will bring in a large team, working closely with local communities and Thai people,” TAT governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said in a statement.
Last month, the TAT confirmed that Tomorrowland’s debut edition in Thailand will take place in the eastern province of Chonburi in December 2026.
