Tiësto Wipes Out Social Media, Changes Logo, Posts Mysterious Countdown
What’s going on with the legend? We may have the answer.
So, just minutes ago, we saw the living legend of Dance music, Tiësto, literally delete all his social media posts. Gone, blank. And not only that, he also changed his logo, updated uniformly as his new profile picture online, AND uploaded one single story to his stories: a countdown. What does this all mean?!
Well, fear not, as it doesn’t seem to be an end for the legacy of Tijs, but rather, new beginnings. It’s not uncommon for artists to do this sort of rebrand when they’re about to do something exciting or introduce a huge new chapter in his career, but for Tiësto to do it, it must mean something quite colossal is underway. And we think it’s got to do with Trance.
Option A: He’s changing his style (again)
We know for a fact Tiësto is a man of many genres, dominating the Trance space towards the early 2000s and moving to slower music afterwards, opening up to Mainstage music (the mighty Electro House back in 2013), and many, many different sounds, even going Progressive and Melo Techno under his Lockdown alias VER:WEST. So who says he’s not doing that again?
BONUS: We think it may be Trance
As of the time of writing, the countdown has six days and change to go. That means Dreamstate. Dreamstate is arguably the largest Trance festival to ever hit the US. And Tijs is widely promoted as playing a “Trance Set” while he’s over there. He also played many adapted classics (like, REAL classics like Salt Tank’s ‘Eugina’) at EDC Las Vegas earlier this year. Look, we may be exaggerating, but we’re putting the pieces together, and the puzzle just comes alive…
Option B: He’s releasing an album
It’s been a while since Tiësto released his last album DRIVE in 2023, so this may very well be a possibility. But it doesn’t really justify the social media wiping. It’s not bee, say, ten years since his last LP. And the logo change also feels like, if an album plays a part in this new chapter of Tiësto, it’s not the main course, but rather, an add-on. Which leads us to believe…
Option C: It’s both
And may God hear our prayers that this all points to a new Trance album from Tiësto. We’ve MISSED the days of ‘Silence’, ‘Suburban Train’, ‘Just Be’ among many others, so it would be a true move to see him back in the Trance space. After all, he’s been at the top once; he can for sure do it twice.
So whatever the outcome is, marketing team did their job, ’cause we’re hooked. And now we can only wait. Time has never gone by so slowly. Anyway, fancy a classics playlist? We sure do. No, we’re not too excited *continues to pant*.
