ABEL Launches Laundry Label with “Slow Steady”
ABEL marked a major milestone with the launch of her new imprint, Laundry Label, alongside the release of her debut single “Slow Steady,” which landed on 14 November 2025.
The launch connected her work as a DJ, producer, and vocalist with a larger vision for new spaces that spotlight emerging voices in house and indie dance. It also signaled the start of a new era for an artist who had already carved out a strong identity on some of the world’s most respected stages.
A New Home for ABEL’s Creative Direction
The rollout of Laundry Label followed an intimate Mixmag Lab session during ADE inside Amsterdam’s Powders Laundrette. The setting captured the essence of what ABEL wanted to build. The layout encouraged movement, color, and close interaction, creating a mood that aligned with the direction of the new label.
The debut single reflected the same intention. “Slow Steady” leaned into a hypnotic and groove-focused approach with a structure built around flow and steady forward drive. It balanced tension, vocal presence, and minimal melodic detail in a way that kept attention centered on the movement of the rhythm.
ABEL also used this moment to outline Laundry Label’s wider purpose.
She wanted a platform that supported upcoming artists while giving them space to explore new ideas in unconventional environments. Her own experience shaped this direction. She had performed at fabric, DRUMSHEDS, Zamna Tulum, Hï Ibiza, Glastonbury, and other major venues, and she had shared lineups with names like Pete Tong, Damian Lazarus, and Camelphat. These experiences reinforced her belief in community-driven spaces that encourage personal identity to grow.
The Sound Behind “Slow Steady”
“Slow Steady” served as a clear introduction to ABEL’s vision.
The record worked in peak hours and in slower, more controlled parts of a set. The rhythm locked into a steady pulse, the vocals sat with intention, and the production carried a patient sense of movement that fit her established style. The track also provided a preview of the tone listeners could expect from the label moving forward. ABEL’s catalog on Circus Recordings, Bedrock, DFTD, Nervous Recordings, and All Day I Dream had already shown her ability to shape hypnotic and effective club material.
Laundry Label gave her room to expand that range with more creative control and more experimentation.
