THE RESISTANCE Unleash ‘EVIL EMPIRE EP (THE REMIXES)’ Ahead of Rampage Debut
Mysterious riddim collective THE RESISTANCE have officially escalated their campaign with the release of ‘EVIL EMPIRE EP (THE REMIXES)’, an 11-track reimagining of the project that propelled them into bass music’s upper echelon. Rather than a simple set of alternate versions, the compilation feels like a coordinated sonic invasion, reshaping the original material into something heavier, darker, and more expansive.
The release follows a wave of speculation sparked by a cryptic transmission shared across THE RESISTANCE’s socials earlier this week. Many fans anticipated a tour announcement or an update surrounding SHADOWCELL, the collective’s upcoming audio-visual concept. Instead, the signal revealed a full-scale remix offensive designed to expand the ‘EVIL EMPIRE’ universe from multiple creative angles.
Originally released in 2025, ‘EVIL EMPIRE’ quickly became one of the most defining riddim projects of the year. The title track evolved into a festival staple, earning heavy rotation from artists across the bass spectrum while spending multiple weeks at number one on Beatport’s Dubstep charts. Its cinematic sound design, dystopian tension, and crushing low-end positioned THE RESISTANCE as a new power force almost overnight.
A New Wave of Riddim Architects Reinterpret ‘EVIL EMPIRE’
To match that momentum, THE RESISTANCE recruited an Avenger-tier roster of producers to dismantle and rebuild the EP. Contributions from FuntCase, Aweminus, MUERTE, MVRDA, Chibs, OG Nixin, Izzy Vadim, Automhate, ONARA, Jub, and Ophion push the source material into uncharted territory. The compilation moves fluidly between razor-sharp riddim structures, experimental sound design, and full-force dubstep, highlighting how far the project’s influence now reaches.
The remix compilation also serves as a prelude to SHADOWCELL, THE RESISTANCE’s new audio-visual performance set to debut at RAMPAGE 2026. Positioned among some of bass music’s biggest names, the performance is expected to fuse narrative-driven visuals, immersive world-building, and devastating sound into a singular live experience.
Operating under anonymity and a Star Wars-coded aesthetic, THE RESISTANCE continue to blur the line between music, mythology, and spectacle. With sold-out headline shows already under their belt and festival appearances rapidly stacking up, the ‘EVIL EMPIRE’ remix compilation feels less like a side project and more like a strategic escalation.
