Solarstone and Orkidea Unveil ‘Pure Trance XI’ – A 4-Hour Live-Mixed Odyssey

Solarstone has officially unveiled ‘Pure Trance XI’. The new entry in the iconic series is co-mixed with Orkidea and is out now via Black Hole Recordings. As the series navigates its second album decade, the new edition brings major changes to its mix-comp marque, although musical purity remains strictly intact.

Crucially, Pure Trance XI closes the circle on a 15-year story. Having solo-helmed the milestone tenth Pure Trance outing, Solarstone reflected at the time that the moment was a transitional point for the series. As a result, the new edition opens that new chapter directly, doubling down on the original ethos of the brand.

Recorded Live at Fabric London

The production process marks a significant evolution for the series. A heaving February Saturday at London’s Fabric supplied the live backdrop for the recording. Every in-the-moment blend, fader glide, filter release, and EQ twist—along with the raw energy of the crowd—was captured in the wild. The result is a live-recorded mix-comp at one of the most demanding scales any DJ team can attempt.

Equally important, ‘XI’ marks the first time Pure Trance has recalled a former co-mixer. Solarstone reunites with producer, DJ, and composer Orkidea, a partnership that feels pre-written given their shared history and mutual appreciation for the art of the mixed-live compilation.

Inside the 4-Hour Journey

The stylistic make-up of the mix hits all the signature Pure Trance sweet spots. New, established, and underground names sit alongside exclusive 2026 tracks and judiciously selected classics. The duo focused on the philosophy that tracks often gain new life when presented within a mix, creating what they describe as “one plus one equals three” moments.

The mix weighs in at an unbroken four-plus hours digitally, with the project also available across triple disc and triple vinyl editions. The opening tranche highlights underground records, including Tiësto’s rework of Delerium’s ‘Innocente’ and Glenn Morrison’s take on TasteXperience’s ‘Frustration’. As the journey progresses, the mid-section pivots toward a trance-progressive sound, featuring new material from Solarstone and Orkidea, before building toward an epic finale with Bryan Kearney’s remix of Orkidea’s ‘Beautiful’.
