Ableton launches new Loop Session series
The first online event takes place on 21 May with previous SHAPE Platform artist Grand River.
Ableton’s Loop Session has announced a new series which will give insight into different artists’ practice and ideas. Kicking off the new online sessions, Dutch-Italian composer, producer and DJ Grand River will give attendees a behind-the-scenes look into her creative process and her method of composing by playing.
As well as showing the Berlin-based artist at work in her own studio, Grand River will join Ableton’s Dennis DeSantis for a 90-minute studio session at Berlin’s Bewake Studios. There Grand River – real name Aimée Portioli – will compose a piece of music followed by an audience Q&A with the artist. Those in attendance will also have the opportunity to join the Loop Café afterwards to discuss the session and their own studio practice.
In The Studio with Grand River is free to attend and will be held at 6pm Berlin time (UTC+2) on the Loop Session platform.
Loop was launched by Ableton in 2015 to support music makers and inspire them in their creative practice through events and online resources. Head here for further information on the initiative.
