Alva Noto, Jana Rush and KMRU to play Semibreve 2022
The Portugese electronic music and digital arts festival returns to Braga from 27-30 October.
Semibreve has announced the initial programme for its 12th edition this year. The first artists confirmed include Chicago footwork veteran Jana Rush, experimental sound artist KMRU and Planet Mu-affiliated producer Gabór Lázár. Multidisciplinary artist Alva Noto has also been announced to play and is set to present the audiovisual show of his release UNIEQAV. There will also be a Príncipe Discos night featuring sets from DJ Marfox, Xexa and DJ Kolt.
The festival programme also features a series of collaborative commissions. As part of this there will be a piece from Félicia Atkinson and Violeta Azevedo as well as a collaboration between contemporary percussion ensemble Drumming GP and Berlin-based experimental musician Burnt Friedman. Elsewhere, Malcolm Pardon – one half of Roll the Dice – will present a world premiere of his debut solo album Hello Death.
In addition to the music line-up, the Portuguese festival will feature art installations, artist talks and workshops. This year Semibreve will also deliver an online programme alongside the in person events.
Semibreve takes place in venues across the city of Braga including the UNESCO World Heritage site Bom Jesus, Theatro Circo and contemporary arts space gnration. Tickets for Semibreve start from €40 and are available here.
