Boombox Cartel further stock an already blistering catalog of live weaponry with “Máquina,” a fervid, 808-exploitative trap submission. The chaos-inducing cut spares vocals, allowing a tripping beat arrangement to steal the riotous show. Racing ascents that raise synths in shrill fashion urgently arch, exploding in choppy drops that pump bass through the speakers.
In December 2019, Boombox Cartel offered an anomalous snapshot of his comparatively more muted, melodic capabilities on “Remember.” With “Máquina,” Boombox Cartel hops back into the driver’s seat and shifts into high gear.
