Burna Boy announces Madison Square Garden concert for 2022
The former Crack Magazine cover star will become the first Nigerian artist to headline the prestigious New York venue.
Burna Boy has announced an upcoming show at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The one-off concert, billed as ‘One Night in Space’, is set to take place on 28 April, 2022. Burna Boy will make history on the night, becoming the first-ever Nigerian artist to headline the iconic venue.
The Twice as Tall artist shared the news via an announcement video, which you can check out below. The forthcoming show follows a run of arena concerts and festival shows performed by the Grammy-winning artist. Earlier this year, Burna Boy took to the stage at London’s O2 Arena and LA’s Hollywood Bowl. He also performed at New York’s Governors Ball festival back in September.
Release-wise, 2021 saw Burna Boy collaborating with the likes of Headie One, Black Sherif and Mist – on tracks Siberia, Second Sermon (Remix) and Rollin’ respectively. He also released Kilometre – a solo single – in April, and a collaboration with Polo G, entitled Want It All, in September.
