Cypress Hill announce 10th studio album, ‘Back In Black’
Cypress Hill have announced their tenth studio album, ‘Back In Black’. You can hear the single ‘Bye Bye feat. Dizzy Wright’ below now.
Marking the beginning of the iconic West Coast hip-hop group’s fourth decade in music, ‘Back In Black’ will be released on 18th March. The album has been produced by Detroit’s Black Milk, who produced their 2021 single, ‘Open Ya Mind’, and has been described by the group’s Sen Dog as a “return to our roots”.
“We were proud hip-hoppers back in the day and we’ve gone through it all,” Sen Dog said in an official statement.” We’re proud to be part of the hip-hop industry. Doing a straight hip-hop joint was the way to go.”
The album’s first single ‘Bye Bye’ features Michigan rapper Dizzy Wright and is described by Cypress HIll’s B-Real as “a statement where – in a roundabout way – we speak to the politics of today.”
“That we’re being lulled into this dreamworld,” he continued. “To try to blind us from the separation that the politicians and government create. Trying to put us to sleep and while we’re in this sleep state of unawareness they do whatever they want.”
A documentary on Cypress Hill, titled ‘Hits From The Bong’, is also set to be released sometime this year.
