Former Avicii Manager Ash Pournouri Responds To Critics Against Lawsuit

Ash Pournouri, the former manager who oversaw the rise of the late EDM icon Avicii (Tim Bergling), has doubled down on his decision to initiate legal proceedings in the Swedish courts, against Avicii’s estate and the way he was portrayed in recent documentaries. Following his initial announcement on December 16, 2025, Pournouri has utilized social media to address growing public backlash and clarify the specific intent behind the litigation.

Despite intense scrutiny from fans and industry observers, Pournouri maintains that the legal move is a necessary final resort to fix what he describes as acemented” false narrative that has blamed him for Bergling’s struggles for over seven years.

In a recent Instagram post, Pournouri emphasized that the lawsuit is technically between corporate entities—specifically targeting Avicii AB and other companies controlled by the Bergling family—rather than a personal attack on the family members themselves. He reiterated that his primary objective is the disclosure of primary documents and sworn testimony, which he believes will dismantle “PR spin” and selective editing found in recent documentaries like ‘Avicii: True Stories’ and the 2024 film ‘Avicii – I’m Tim’.

Pournouri insists that his lawsuit is a pursuit of truth, and the time he took before he began taking legal action has its reasoning. In his own words, “It may look impulsive to the world but I waited and begged constantly for seven years for those who knew the truth to speak. They had all the chances in the world to avoid this. They never did. So I am releasing the facts“.
