Glastonbury’s Emily Eavis says festival is “very much aiming” for June 2021

Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis says the festival is “very much aiming” to take place in June next year.

Despite Michael Eavis recently stating he thinks a return in 2021 is “wishful thinking”, Emily took to Twitter this past weekend to clarify that there were no intentions to postpone next year’s edition to September, as some rumours had suggested.

As with the vast majority of events and festivals scheduled to take place this year, the Somerset festival had no option but to cancel this year’s outing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Looking towards next year, Eavis said via Twitter, “For those who have been asking, we have no plans to move next year’s Glastonbury to September 2021 – we’re still very much aiming for June.”

Eavis also clarified that there will be no ticket re-sale this year due to the fact that so few people opted to return their 2020 tickets.

Following the cancellation of this year’s event, Avon & Somerset Police revealed that Glastonbury Festival had donated thousands of litres of hand sanitiser, medical-grade masks, and gloves to frontline emergency service workers and NHS staff.
