Here’s a chance to win funding, kit, software and support for your new podcast
Ever had an idea for a podcast?
In-depth conversations, stranger-than-fiction stories, obsessive deep-dives and untapped formats – the UK has seen a cultural boom in the creation and consumption of our new favourite format for storytelling. And yours could be next to break through.
Acast, the biggest independent podcast company in the world, have announced the launch of Acast Amplifier – an incubator scheme to find the next biggest thing in British podcasting. Three successful applicants will win a game-changing package to get their pod off to the best possible start.
You’ll win a £2,500 grant, software, recording equipment, studio time and a lifetime subscription to Acast Ace – the top hosting plan which will allow you to distribute, develop and make money out of your series. You’ll also receive production support for your first three episodes (including artwork and music) from our creative company, CC Co.
We love making podcasts. Over the years we’ve told stories about Berlin, UK venues, unsung heroes and more. We can’t wait to get to know the next generation of podcasters and help with bringing their ideas to life.
Applicants will be asked to introduce themselves and their idea as well as submitting a 60-second audio statement. They’ll then be judged by an all-star cast of British podcast heavyweights. The panel includes British comedy and entertainment legend Adam Buxton, writer, host and and creator of Channel 4’s How Not To Be Racist Chanté Joseph, Crack Magazine and Novara Media audio producer Chal Ravens.
They are joined by gal-dem’s Life Editor Niellah Arboine, Tash Walker and Shivani Dave of award-winning podcast The Log Books, hosts of the Dope Black Women podcast Leanne Levers and Roshan Roberts, Imriel Morgan of Content is Queen, Scroobius Pip, Stu Whiffen and Adam Richardson of Pod Bible and Imriel Morgan, the CEO of podcast creative community Content is Queen.
