Karen Nyame KG drops new EP, ‘Sensei II’, on Black Acre: Listen
KG has released a new EP.
Following the release of her singles ‘Nzinga’ and ‘Mantra’, London-based DJ, producer and presenter Karen Nyame has dropped her latest project: ‘Sensei II’.
A four-track EP released via Black Acre, ‘Sensei II’ moves through UK Funky, gqom, R&B, afrobeats and beyond, and it the British-Ghanaian artists’ debut on the imprint.
Speaking about the EP and her collaborators, KG said: “Collaborating with Aymos, Toya Delazy, Taliwhoah, Mista Silva – truly a magical yet organic experience. It was my intention to link in with amazing artists who are from the African continent or/ linked into the African diaspora in some way. I wanted that flavour/essence of ‘back home’ felt throughout the project. From the ‘Highlife’ guitar riffs to the Broken English / Ghanaian ‘Twi’ spoken on ‘Koko’, or the South African ‘Zulu’ on Nzinga for example – it was my intention to really tap more into my Afro roots this time around.”
