Kill Frenzy elects eight hardcore cuts ahead of Minimal Effort Halloween
Known for his unmistakable sound and unabashed ways, the Belgium-born producer Kill Frenzy is a hand-selected favorite of Dirtybird boss Claude VonStroke – and for good reason. Armed with a brooding, fearless and risqué sonic persona, Kill Frenzy is an ideal booking to help harness the dancefloor derangement of Minimal Effort’s annual Halloween affair in Los Angeles.
For the past five years, Minimal Effort has earned its reputation as Los Angeles’ most sought-after dance music event during the City of Angels’ All Hallows Eve weekend spectacular.
Taking place at the Belasco Theatre on October 28, Kill Frenzy joins the likes of Boys Noize, Audiofly, BUTCH, Christian Martin, Human Resources, Louisahhh, Nicola Cruz, Tim Engelhardt and more for a night of eccentric dress up and enticing mischief.
Ahead of the event, Kill Frenzy picked out eight devastating tracks that can unleash your most fearsome dancefloor behavior.

Catz ‘N Dogz & Joseph Ashworth ‘Factory Settings’
“Best record of the year for me. All the elements in this track are perfectly aligned and come it at the right time. It builds upon layer and layer while still keeping its simplicity. The big drums are what really won me over and the vocal sample that comes in at the second part completes the whole affair. Listening to it reminds me why I want to make music.”
DJ Deeon & DJ Funk ‘Let It Be House’
“Probably the most gangster house track I have ever heard. The vocal is so deep and heavy that it gives me chills. The synths are sinister and drums hit like a mofo!”
Ketiov ‘Rhythm #4’
“This, among others on the same release, has become an absolute favorite of mine. You can go anywhere and in any direction with it. I’ve really been into tribal sounding drums lately.”
The Martinez Brothers ‘Stuff In The Trunk feat. Miss Kittin’ (Johnny Aux Remix)
“A master class in simplicity from Johnny Aux. This is so raw it could be a jam. The track is perfectly executed and it just works!”
Innershades & Robert D ‘Point Of No Return’
“Another badass record that makes me pull a nasty face. Very much a retro feel of the old Belgian New beat style in this one. It completely nails it.”
Black Light Smoke ‘Stealing’
“The track really starts around 2:45 and I’m happy they make us wait. The drums and vocals lead you into it, but the reason I like it so much is that it doesn’t use the same old boring layout you find on most tracks these days.”
Green Velvet ‘Flash’ (Paul Johnson Remix)
“I actually only recently discovered this version. It’s only available on vinyl. There have been many versions but this just might be my favorite besides the original.”
The Mackenzie ‘Higher In The Sky’
“An old Belgian classic that has recently popped up again because of the Sound of Belgium documentary. The track was originally released in 1999. You know when you go out and you just hear a song that relieves all your stress? Well, this tune does that for me. It gives me a euphoric feeling and I could finish my sets with this forever.”
Theus Mago & Moderna ‘Tecno Misogino’ (Bufi Remix)
“This record just puts a big fat smile on my face. I feel like I’m flipping everyone off when I play it. I heard Asa Moto play this on a radio show and I just had to steal it.”
