Loraine James and TSVI team up for new EP 053
The London-based producers have announced a new collaborative EP, set for release on 13 May via AD93.
Entitled 053, the EP was produced during the UK’s third lockdown when James and TSVI shared a studio space in east London. The five-track release was recorded across two weeks using the limited resources available to them in isolation, which included an out-of-tune piano and their phones.
Speaking on the EP, TSVI – real name Guglielmo Barzacchini – said, “Each track name and the EP as a whole represents our state of mind and shared feelings at that current time during isolation. We lived together in a warehouse space in Hackney Wick. We made those tracks during the last part of the lockdown. We’d go to my studio with no pressure to make anything.”
Alongside today’s announcement, the pair have shared two tracks from the forthcoming release – Observe and Trust – which you can listen to below.
James has also been busy with her latest project, the ambient-focused alias Whatever the Weather. Earlier this month, she released her self-titled debut record under this name.
