Michael Bibi Welcomes Stem Cell Charity to Homecoming Gig
Michael Bibi is set to host a remarkable homecoming gig, One Life London. He will be joined by Anthony Nolan, the stem cell transplant charity. The event, which promises to be London’s “biggest ever electronic show“, is not just about music but also about making a difference.
Anthony Nolan will have a presence at the sold-out event, aiming to recruit attendees to join the stem cell register. This gig marks Michael Bibi‘s return to the London stage after his battle with cancer last year. The DJ and producer, deeply grateful for the treatment he received at London’s Royal Marsden Hospital, is now leveraging his platform to support the cause that aided his recovery.
In 2022, Michael Bibi was diagnosed with a rare nervous system lymphoma. His recovery, facilitated by advancements in medical treatments like stem cell transplants, has inspired him to support others facing similar battles. Reflecting on his journey, Michael Bibi said,
“Advancements in medical treatments like stem cell transplants gave me a second chance at life and are crucial in battling these conditions. Together, our community can make a difference. That’s why Anthony Nolan staff and volunteers will be at my homecoming show, ready to sign people up to the stem cell register.“
The charity, dedicated to ensuring that everyone who needs a lifesaving stem cell transplant finds a match, will speak to young men and those from minority ethnic backgrounds, particularly those aged 16-30. This demographic is crucial, as stem cell transplants are more effective from younger donors.
“Anthony Nolan is a charity dedicated to ensuring that everyone who needs a lifesaving stem cell transplant finds a match. So, if you’re coming down to celebrate life in Finsbury Park, make sure you visit the Anthony Nolan stand.”
The importance of this initiative cannot be overstated.
“By becoming part of the stem cell community, you could give the gift of life. London is my home, and this event is going to be a special one. One life, Live it.“
Anthony Nolan staff and volunteers will be on-site, encouraging some of the 45,000 partygoers to sign up for the stem cell register. The organization highlighted that,
“Your stem cells could hold the key to someone’s survival, and that starts with a simple swab.“
