New 450-capacity venue Number 90 Hideout to open in Hackney Wick

A new, 450-capacity venue is set to open its doors in London’s Hackney Wick.

Number 90 Hideout is set to officially launch next month, and comes as a result of canalside venue Number 90 being split into three, joining Number 90 Live and Number 90 Bar as the venue’s trio of new iterations.

While some may recognise the familiar interior of Number 90 Hideout, the team behind the venue have “completely remodelled” the Number 90 dancefloor space, with refurbishments including wooden panelling across the walls and floor, and acoustic treatments throughout the space.

Number 90 Hideout has also installed a custom wooden DJ booth as the centre of the venue’s dancefloor, bespoke lighting and 360 projection mapping all along with Number 90’s existing D&B soundsystem.

While it isn’t set to officially launch until next month, eagle-eyed viewers may notice that Number 90 Hideout was the location for Barry Can’t Swim’s recent appearance in The Mixmag Lab London, ahead of the venue’s grand opening.

“We didn’t just renovate a venue, we built an experience,” says Number 90’s co-founder Bruno Cabral. “Every panel, every angle, every speaker was positioned for optimal sound. Whether you’re a DJ, a performer, or just here for the atmosphere, Hideout will change the way you hear music and experience events.”

“25 years active in the scene now, it’s still small-to-medium-sized underground clubs that inspire and excite me the most as both an artist and a dancer,” says DJ and producer Giles Smith. “I am extremely proud to have been approached to be involved in Number 90 Hideout, as a resident DJ and bringing my Giles Smith & Friends nights onboard. Within seconds of seeing the venue, I said ‘yes’. The space is quite simply stunning and will no doubt become one of the best clubs of its type in the capital and surely beyond.”
